Founder & President
Founder and President of Kuhns & Associates, Chris has over 50 years of experience with individual and small business taxes, with an emphasis in problem solving and tax planning. Additionally, he has extensive experience in sales and acquisitions of businesses. He has been a lecturer for small business seminars and has also published over twenty articles on taxation and small business accounting.
Colleen M. Smith
Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor
Colleen has over 30 years of experience with individual and small business taxes. In addition to tax preparation, she provides on-site assistance for business owners and their staff, working directly with their software — with an expertise in QuickBooks and BusinessWorks systems among others.
Bruce R. Downie
Since 2019
Bruce brings senior financial management experience from public accounting, financial services and utilities. His expertise is in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning, along with individual and small business tax compliance and planning.
Adel M. Shoman
Tax Compliance & Consulting
Adel brings over 8 years of experience in tax compliance, planning and consulting for individuals and businesses, with a specialty in the construction and real estate sectors. A proud Cleveland State University graduate, he is passionate about mentoring the next generation of tax professionals.
Mary Ann Miller
Corporate Accounting
Mary Ann has been with Kuhns & Associates for over 30 years. Her specialties are in corporate accounting and bookkeeping, payroll taxes and corporate tax returns, with extensive experience across QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Sera Baker
Office Manager & Executive Administrator
Sera supports every member of the firm and our clients — transmitting tax returns through SafeSend Returns, managing all billing, and keeping the whole office running smoothly.
Jeremy Ksiazka

Jeremy provides support to the team and clients with bookkeeping and accounting services.
Barb Kuhns
Since 2008
Barb provides administrative support to staff and clients — assembling outgoing documents and managing electronic services such as the Portal, document exchange and SafeSend Returns.
Bacon
Chief Comfort Officer
Bacon joined the firm in April 2025. She enjoys all the attention she can get and long walks at the Rocky River Reservation — you’ll find her roaming the office looking for rubs behind the ear and snacks.
